Your Questions, Answered: Immigration Q&A

  • An immigration psychological evaluation is a comprehensive mental health assessment conducted by a licensed clinical professional. It documents the psychological impact of your experiences and is used as supporting evidence in immigration cases. The evaluation results in a detailed written report that your attorney submits to the court or USCIS.

  • We provide evaluations for VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) self-petitions, U-Visa cases for victims of qualifying crimes, T-Visa cases for survivors of human trafficking, Asylum cases for individuals fleeing persecution, and Extreme Hardship Waiver cases. If you are unsure whether your case qualifies, contact your attorney prior to scheduling your appointment session.

  • Step 1: Complete our online intake request form on this page. Step 2: Our office will contact you within two business days to confirm your case type, schedule your evaluation session and send you your invoice for payment. Full payment must be received for your session to occur. Step 3: Attend your virtual evaluation session (typically 60 to 90 minutes). Step 4: We prepare your written psychological evaluation report, usually within 7 to 10 business days. Step 5: The completed report is sent directly to you.

  • Our evaluation fees vary by case type and complexity. We provide transparent pricing during your initial consultation. Our cost start at 1700.00 for individual assessments. Family assessments prices are discounted depending on the number of people evaluated. Payment is due before the evaluation session. We do not bill insurance for immigration evaluations as they are forensic in nature, not therapeutic services.

  • While having an attorney is strongly recommended, it is not required to schedule an evaluation with us. However, we coordinate directly with your legal team when an attorney is involved to ensure the evaluation addresses the specific legal standards for your case.

  • Yes. All of our immigration evaluations are conducted virtually via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. This allows us to serve clients across multiple states regardless of location.

  • The clinician will ask about your personal history, the experiences that led to your immigration case, and how those experiences have affected your mental health. This is a supportive, confidential conversation — not an interrogation. You are welcome to take breaks at any time. If you need an interpreter, let us know when scheduling.

  • Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days. If you have an urgent court deadline, let us know when scheduling and we will do our best to accommodate. Rush fees may apply.

  • Your evaluation is confidential and protected under clinician-client privilege. The report is only shared with you and, with your written consent, your attorney. We do not share information with USCIS, ICE, or any government agency directly — that decision is made by you and your legal team. Our therapist are licensed mandated reporters. Confidentiality is broken if you state you are going to harm yourself, harm someone else or someone is harming you. The therapist will explain this process in the session.

  • Our clinician conducts evaluations in English. For clients who prefer another language, we arrange a qualified interpreter at an additional cost. Let us know your preference on the intake form.
